The Mission

Outreach & Engagement serves as a catalyst by utilizing JMU resources to create mutually beneficial partnerships, advance educational opportunities, and empower individuals and our extended communities.

If you are: 

  • a student who wants to take a few courses at JMU
  • a high school student at the junior or senior level
  • a person seeking professional development, teacher recertification, or self-enrichment

Then you are a JMU Community Student (non-degree seeking student)!

Applications take 3-5 business days to be processed. 
Note:  If you are registering for a class through MyMadison please remember that you not only need to allow enough time for your application to be processed but you also need to be aware of the last day that you can add a class.  PLEASE CONSIDER THIS BEFORE FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION.  Registration deadlines can be found at the registrar’s site  - www.jmu.edu/registrar.
