The Many Benefits of Exercise

Getting in shape is a common New Year's resolution, but there are many other benefits to keeping yourself fit beyond looking good in a bathing suit! Are you stressing about an exam or term paper coming up? A study done at U.C. San Francisco in 2010 observed positive effects of exercise for combating the detrimental impact of stress. They found that cells of individuals who exercised for 45 minutes a day over a three day period showed fewer signs of aging than those who were inactive. In addition, exercise releases serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine which help a person feel relaxed and content.

Exercise can also improve your learning capacity! Some studies have linked complicated coordination activities with higher levels of chemicals in body that promote brain activity and storage. Other studies have linked consistent exercise with slowing the progression of Alzheimer's disease in older patients.
