Ever have a professor who truly changed the way you looked at the world? Someone who inspired a new interest or challenged a long-held belief? Or perhaps just helped you shoulder a burden or share a joy?
I did. Professor Pam Johnson’s influence on my Madison Experience helped me find my true calling in life. And since my graduation in 1994, I’ve published 13 nonfiction readers for the Random House Step Into Reading Series and the Grosset and Dunlap All Aboard Reading Series. My books help young readers learn about science and reading through stories about amazing animals.
James Madison University and Professor Johnson helped me make a difference in the world. And I’m not alone. Every day Madison faculty are teaching and mentoring students to use their talents and skills to address the issues that matter in today’s world.
That’s why my husband Jay (Class of ’92) and I are regular supporters of the Madison Fund at JMU. The Madison Fund provides a conduit for gifts from donors like us to ignite new ideas and projects on the JMU campus – wherever the need is greatest.
We hope that you will join us by making your gift to the Madison Fund today.
In doing so, you will help to write a new story about how Madison professors make a difference in students’ lives. And you will have set the stage for those students to create positive change in the world.
This is what Madison is all about. And now in these uncertain times – more than ever – Madison needs your help to provide the resources necessary to ensure that our faculty and students can continue to Be the Change. Please give today. Consider it an investment in all our futures – and an investment in a better world.
