Malcolm G. Lane Scholarship Endowment for Computer Science (1001091)
The Malcolm G. Lane Scholarship honors the contributions of former department head Malcolm Lane by recognizing outstanding junior or senior Computer Science majors. This scholarship provides financial resources annually to one or more students who will be in their junior or senior year of undergraduate studies. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must (a) have a declared major in Computer Science; and (b) have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)at James Madison University after at least two semesters of study (at the time the student is considered for this scholarship).
Department of Engineering
Department of Engineering (1000364)
Funds are always needed to help students engage in more relevant and meaningful engineering design, research, and service learning projects. Each year, we expect Engineering students to apply their skills and knowledge to real-world, human problems. From the first freshman design competition, through the Introduction to Engineering course, to the six semesters of Engineering Design, every student team is expected to design and prototype real engineering products and processes. We welcome donations that could be used to help defray the cost of materials needed by students who participate in these projects. By participating in these types of projects, many of our students will also qualify to present their work at regional or national engineering conferences. We also welcome donations that can be used to help defray the cost of student conference travel. The faculty, students, and staff of the JMU Department of Engineering would like to thank you in advance for any support you can provide for these important and transformative student experiences.
The Peter G. Jackson Scholarship (1001046)
This scholarship was endowed during the spring of 2008, and will be first awarded for the 2009-10 academic year. The Jackson Family – specifically, Peter G. Jackson, Peter S. Jackson, Susan R. Jackson, Diane L. Fellenbaum, John D. Fellenbaum, Susan J. Reid, and Robert D. Reid – came together to create this endowment. The endowment will provide the financial resources to honor and support outstanding undergraduate student scholars enrolled in the general engineering program at James Madison University. Additional contributions will increase the amount that can be awarded to a student each year.
Department of Integrated Science and Technology
ISAT Department
(1000250)
This is a general fund for enrichment of student and faculty opportunities
in the Department of Integrated Science & Technology.
ISAT Department Endowment (1000949)
This is a general endowment for the ISAT Department. This endowment is used
to support a range of activities and projects by the Department’s faculty and
students.
ISAT Department Student Projects (1002123)
This account supports student capstone projects in all three undergraduate
programs (BSISAT, GS, IA) in the ISAT Department. Many capstone projects rely
critically on small-scale funding, which is often difficult to obtain from
outside sources. This fund helps to provide some of these funds, which can
enable projects that would otherwise not be possible. Funding to projects is
competitive and is allocated on the basis of merit and impact.
Undergraduate Research Support for ISAT (1002123)
This endowment provides support for other student research efforts in the
three undergraduate programs (BSISAT, GS, IA) in the ISAT Department. These
include student capstone projects, conference attendance, independent research
projects, and other research endeavors by undergraduates in the Department.
ISAT Scholarships (1000525)
This fund supports scholarships for students enrolled in the undergraduate
programs in the ISAT Department. This includes the Geographic Science program,
the Integrated Science and Technology program, and the Intelligence Analysis
program.
Gauldin '50 Endowed Scholarship Fund (1000987)
Established with a gift by Elizabeth Anne Gauldin '50 to provide
scholarship support for undergraduate students who are engaged in scientific
research and the study of science. In particular, this scholarship fund
supports students with interests related to space education within the
Department of Integrated Science and Technology. Each year scholarship funds
will be provided to one outstanding undergraduate student scholar.
Roop Scholarship
(1001171)
Roop scholarships are made on a competitive basis to outstanding JMU
students who are enrolled full-time and are majors in one of the programs in
