Madison Fund (14850) - Unrestricted university account for use where the need is greatest

JMU Libraries and Educational Technologies (14573) - Funds to support the programs and activities of the Carrier Library, the East Campus Library, the Music Library, the Center for Instructional Technology, the Media Resources Center and technology enhanced classrooms on the JMU campus.

Duke Club (25552) - This fund provides scholarships to JMU student athletes.

Edith J. Carrier Arboretum (14171) - Funds to be used for the Arboretum which provides an outdoor facility to serve the purposes of education, research and demonstration.

General Education Program (14432) - Account receives gifts for the purpose of supporting the general education program.

Edith Carrier Scholarship (15289) - Scholarship was established by the JMU Women's Club to honor JMU's first lady, Edith Carrier.  This scholarship is awarded to currently enrolled students who are children of JMU Faculty/Staff.  Contact the JMU Women's Club for additional information.

Classified Employee Scholarship (25308) - This endowed scholarship was established by the JMU Foundation for students of classified employees.  Applicants must be sons or daughters of a full-time classified employee Contact the Financial Aid office for additional information.

Faculty-Staff Scholarship (25400)
- Fund was established by faculty and staff with the goal to create an endowed scholarship.  Recipients shall be a new undergraduate student, resident of Virginia, in the top 20% of his/her high school, class in junior year, have a strong academic record, SAT scores of at least 1100 and no less than 500 in either verbal or math sections, and show potential for exceptional non-academic contributions.  The faculty-staff committee will select recipients.

Cecil Bradfield Scholarship (25280) - Scholarship awarded to a student who is majoring in sociology, anthropology or social work with demonstrated need.  The recipient must also demonstrate commitment to community service and advocacy for the underprivileged. The scholarship will be awarded to a student in sociology in even years and in social work in odd years.

JMU is very beneficial. Gifts designated to this account will provide funds for travel expenses and/or honoraria for visiting scientists to give seminars in the Department.

Physics Electronics Supplies (14689) - This provides funds for the purchase of electronic equipment and supplies.

Henry W. Leap Scholarship (25571) - Merit scholarship for incoming Freshmen in the Physics Department.

Physics Alumni/Faculty Scholarship (25690) - Merit scholarships for sophomore and juniors in the Physics Program.

Physics Seminar Endowment (25691) - This supports the Physics seminar program.  Fund has not reached full endowment, so contributions are greatly needed.

Trelawney Undergraduate Research Endowment (25838) - Supports undergraduate student research in biology. Dr. Gil Trelawney was head of the Biology Department for over 23 years until his retirement in 1994.

Chappelear Scholarships (25295) - Biology Scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded to meritorious and/or needy students each year to allow them to pursue their studies in Biology at JMU. 

Acton Scholarships (25137) - Biology Scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded to meritorious and/or needy students each year to allow them to pursue their studies in Biology at JMU. 

Margaret Gordon Scholarships (24431) - Biology Scholarship.  Scholarships are awarded to meritorious and/or needy students each year to allow them to pursue their studies in Biology at JMU. 

Chemistry Department (14301) - Gifts to this account assist with the funding for areas in need such as student stipends for research, student/faculty travel to professional meetings to present research and departmental seminars.

Chappell Scholarship (24299) - Awarded in honor of Dr. Wilbert Chappell to a junior majoring in chemistry who plans for a career in the medical or education field.

Casali Memorial Scholarship (25312) - This endowment was established in honor of Liberty Casali, a retired and emeritus faculty of JMU's Chemistry Department. It is intended that through this scholarship, funds will be provided annually to an outstanding undergraduate student scholar who is majoring in the field of Chemistry at the University.

Amenta Chemistry Award (15217) - Established to receive charitable contributions honoring Dr. Donna Amenta.  These gifts will be used for an annual award to a deserving Chemistry student.

Doherty End Geology Student Research Scholar (25352) - An endowed Scholarship established by Michael C. Doherty to honor the memory of Alison MacDonald Doherty, a 1980 graduate of James Madison University, who emphasized during her lifetime the importance of research to understand how environmental contaminants move through and are affected by geological formations.

Geology Student Research Endowment (25438) - The purpose of the fund is to provide financial support for undergraduates traveling to professional meetings to present their research findings.

Mathematics Department (14568) - Restricted funds for support of the Mathematics Department.

Serway Physics Scholarship (25744) - Established by Dr. Raymond A. Serway, Professor of Physics, James Madison University  Recipients are students majoring in physics, and shall be selected by a committee appointed by the head of the JMU Physics Department.

Robert Gordan Scholarship (25441) - Established with a gift from Raymond & Elizabeth Serway to honor Robert Gordon upon his retirement from the Physics Department.  The recipient will be a student with a demonstrated aptitude in mathematics and interest in physics who plans to major in physics and is considered outstanding.

Physics Department (14688) - Funds for the support of the physics department expendable, including the Physics Seminar Series.
