CSM Student Ambassadors

Are you looking to expand your resume AND share your love for JMU? Consider becoming a CSM Student Ambassador! Our new ambassador program will allow you to share your STEM experience with prospective students and their families. Ambassadors are encouraged to showcase their CSM and department experience to help new students decide if JMU is right for them. Plus, through training and experience, you'll gain leadership and communication skills!

Our ambassadors will help with:

  • Fall Explore JMU Open House events for prospective students. This includes helping with tours and/or answering questions at a department table.
  • Spring CHOICES for prospective admitted students. Ambassadors will participate in student panels, give tours, and/or answer questions at our college open house.
  • East campus and west campus tours of CSM facilities throughout the academic year.

Eligibility & Compensation:

Ambassadors will serve for a minimum of one year, and receive necessary training early in the Fall semester. Applicants must have completed at least one semester in a CSM major and must be in good academic standing.

Student ambassadors can choose to receive 1-credit/semester OR $12/hour and can expect to work 15-25 hours per semester depending on the needs of the program. Also, all training time is paid time! Ambassadors will also get a CSM polo shirt and name tag.
