Teaching Institutes
Teaching Institutes provide faculty extended, immersive experiences pertaining to course design and development (e.g., drafting objectives, creating assignments, conceptualizing pedagogies, etc.). Institutes range from half-day options to multi-day events, allowing faculty to focus on nuanced teaching and learning issues that are particular to their own courses, programs, and/or disciplines. They are facilitated by faculty mentors and consultants with expertise in pedagogy and instructional design.
The CFI currently offers the following type of Teaching Institute:
While engaged in Teaching Institutes, faculty will:
- Experience pedagogy appropriate to the session; and
- Have the opportunity to actively apply the session content.
