The Historical Collection includes a wealth of materials on the history of the State Normal and Industrial School for Women at Harrisonburg, the State Normal School for Women at Harrisonburg , the State Teachers at Harrisonburg, Madison College and James Madison University. Many of the items in Special Collections are accessible online.
The Special Collections Department is on the second floor of the library and is open on Monday-Friday from 11am to 4pm during the regular academic year. Exceptions to this schedule are posted on the JMU Libraries website.
