Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan

JMU Moves!

JMU is in the process of preparing a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan to realize the maximum potential and benefits of an interconnected system within the JMU campus with connections to the City of Harrisonburg and regional networks. An Advisory Committee has been appointed at JMU and is working on the collection of data such as bicycle rack locations and utilization, and bicycle traffic analysis throughout the campus. A planning and design consultant (VHB) has been hired and is assisting JMU in development of the Master Plan. The Master Plan will include a comprehensive system of bicycle and pedestrian routes, bicycle racks, signage and other facilities to accommodate, encourage and enhance the safe and convenient use of bicycling and walking on the JMU campus.
