Each year the Office of Financial Aid seeks to assist JMU students who have financial need. While they help as many as possible through existing grants and scholarships, there are still far too many Dukes who will not receive support due to insufficient funding.
With your gift to the GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND, you can help fill the gap. Awards from the fund are distributed to students who are eligible for need-based grants, but otherwise could not be supported due to the university's lack of funds. All undergraduate students are eligible for assistance, and need is based on a student's individual FAFSA. Disbursement of funds will occur in two installments at the beginning of each semester. Making awards early helps reduce anxiety students may feel due to financial considerations —but awards can only be made if caring JMU community members like you make the decision to give.
By making a gift today, you can allow some of our best and brightest Dukes to continue pursuing their educational goals.
Josh Kelaher ('11) graduated at the top of his high school class with a goal: to become a global voice in environmental policy. Why did Josh choose JMU? Our commitment to providing opportunities to tackle real world issues and because JMU was able to offer a scholarship award. See how Madison is preparing Josh to Be the Change here or give now.
