Description of the Major
The intelligence analysis (IA) major was created specifically for students who want to become intelligence analysts in either government or private industry. The department has a distinctive commitment to developing, teaching and integrating:
The program was developed with feedback from experts in the field. By choosing a degree in intelligence analysis, you will have a very distinctive education drawing from some of the most advanced new methods of analysis that are available to an undergraduate student.

Declaring the Major
New Freshmen and Transfer Students
Declare the intelligence analysis major when you register for orientation.
Currently Enrolled Major Changers
Complete a "Change or Declaration of Major" form and obtain the signature of the ISAT Coordinator for students in the ISAT/CS building, room 121.
To learn more about the curriculum, all students must complete an interview with Dr. Noel Hendrickson, intelligence analysis student adviser at (540) 568-8941 or hendrinx@jmu.edu.
Be prepared to take courses over a sequence of six semesters, normally starting in the fall of the sophomore year.
Progressing in the Major
Remain in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0.
