Description of the Major
The major puts you in the middle of the exploding information revolution where you study technological advances such as object-oriented software, communication networks, multimedia systems, information security and artificial intelligence. You will learn about computing technologies used by today’s professionals and how to use these technologies to solve real-world problems. You will learn to analyze problems, design solutions, implement solutions using multiple computing technologies, test and install those solutions, and communicate those solutions to others in written and verbal presentations.

New Freshmen and Transfer Students
Declare the computer science major when you register for orientation.
Currently Enrolled Major Changers
Submit a "Change or Declaration of Major" form to the computer science department head in the ISAT/CS building, room 222.
Progressing in the Major
Earn at least a "C" grade in CS 139 to progress to CS 239.
