Declaring the Major | Progressing in the Major
Description of the Major
The biology major offers a liberal arts and sciences program of study that gives you the foundation for entry into a broad spectrum of professional opportunities. An important feature of the program is its strong emphasis on providing you with independent undergraduate research opportunities. The four course core curriculum includes classes that emphasize laboratory experience and process in science. This laboratory emphasis continues in upper division course work. Biology, as a science, is very diverse and is reflected in the research interests of the biology faculty. Please refer to the Biology Departmental website for more information about faculty research interests.
