JMU Account Info for Graduating Students

If you are graduating in May or summer, congratulations on this important achievement! As you prepare for graduation, please take note of the following details regarding your JMU account.

• Your access to Canvas will be removed at graduation.
• Your access to JMU eID and Office 365 (including Dukes email) will last until October 1, 2026. After this date, your access to both will be permanently

Note: if you are returning to JMU for another academic program after graduating, then the above does not apply to you.

How Do I Prepare?

• Save any files from Canvas that you want to keep before graduation.
• Create a personal email account now if you do not already have one.
  • We recommend that you start using an auto-reply from your Dukes account now to tell people about the change.
  • You will NOT be able to forward new emails from your Dukes account after October 1^st because the entire account will be deleted.
• Save any important contacts or messages from your Dukes email account to your personal account.
• Download any files stored in your OneDrive.
• Update any websites that use your Dukes email to use your personal email moving forward. This may include social media, Netflix, shopping sites, devices, etc.
