JMU launches new faculty and staff e-newsletter

SUMMARY: The new e-newsletter is designed to reduce the large volume of emails sent to all faculty, staff and students, while better coordinating the workflow of email distribution across campus.
Welcome to JMU News, an experience we hope you will find useful and informative. This new e-newsletter will serve as the official source of information and announcements for all faculty and staff, like the way Dukes Weekly serves students.
As part of Reengineering Madison, the university transitioned to a new Customer Relationship Management platform that will also provide us with a new email communication tool. With this new tool, a primary focus is to reduce the large volume of emails sent to all faculty, staff and students, while better coordinating the workflow of email distribution across campus.
JMU News will be sent every Wednesday morning to all faculty and staff. We’re already working with some campus partners to integrate stories and announcements. In future phases, bulk mail notices will be incorporated into this weekly publication.
In the coming weeks, University Communications will collaborate with campus partners to share the governance and updated processes involving email communication.
Campus partners are invited to share unit, departmental and divisional news, announcements, events, etc., for consideration in the new e-newsletter. A fillable form will soon be shared to submit these ideas or ask questions, but in the meantime, please email jmunews@jmu.edu with submission requests.
