Being Seen for Who We Are

Coming on the heels of its recent new Carnegie Classification of R2 Doctoral University with high research activity, JMU’s move from regional powerhouse to inclusion among top national schools has been buoyed by a host of leading ranking agencies.

U.S. News & World Report places JMU #72 among Top Public Schools – National Universities. Niche, another popular ranking system, has JMU #66 among top public universities. Washington Monthly lists JMU #51 in its National University Rankings. 

The U.S. News & World Report ranking list also places JMU as follows: 

• Best Undergraduate Engineering – No Doctorate #18

• Undergraduate Teaching – National Universities #41

• Best Undergraduate Nursing #93 

• Best Undergraduate Business #108

• National Universities #151

With these accolades and the university’s move to the NCAA Division-I Sun Belt Conference, JMU continues its march to carve out a place of national prominence.
