Update on summer online class fees, fall registration dates

JMU News

Dear students and families,

We are writing today with important updates regarding a reduction in fees for online classes for the Summer 2020 semester and adjustments to registration dates for the Fall 2020 semester.

Fees for online Summer 2020 semester classes will be reduced by 50%.

As previously announced, the university will hold all classes for the Summer 2020 semester online. We recognize that some students who were not planning to take classes this summer, now need or want to take summer classes to continue their academic progress. Because of this, the university is reducing the online fee for all students from $50 per credit hour, to $25 per credit hour, resulting in a $75 savings for a standard three-credit course.

This change applies to fees for the Summer 2020 semester only. Tuition rates still apply. Summer semester tuition rates can be found here

Class registration for Fall 2020 Semester is being moved back.

Registration for Fall 2020 semester will begin on April 20 for graduate students, doctoral students and seniors; April 21 for juniors; April 22 for sophomores; and April 23 for freshmen. Beginning April 8, students can check MyMadison to view their updated Fall 2020 enrollment appointment.

Thank you for your patience and support. These changes, in addition to previous news about housing, dining and parking refunds, and implementing a credit/no-credit grading option, are meant to provide students and families increased access and flexibility during these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

JMU Business Services & The Office of the Provost
