The Gus Bus is a community literacy and academic enrichment program serving PreK-5th grade students in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Each spring the Morrison Bruce Center partners with the Gus Bus for their Family Engagement Night. This event, held at a select location in Harrisonburg, offers educational activities, free resources, and support for parents and guardians. The MBC partners with the CHBS Dietetics graduate program to offers programming related to physical activity, nutrition, & wellness.
Goal: To support families in developing healthy habits through fun activities that engage multiple dimensions of health and wellness, specifically physical activity and nutrition.
Who: Children in PreK-5th grade, and their families, who live in the Harrisonburg school district.
When: One evening during the Spring semester
