EmpowHER is a weekly resistance training programming designed for adult women of any fitness level. Participants include JMU faculty, staff, students, alumni, and Harrisonburg community members. EmpowHER sessions give women the opportunity to experience the weight room in a comfortable, educational, and welcoming setting where they can build confidence to incorporate weight training into their regular exercise routines.
The EmpowHER team offers a new series of weekly workout programs each semester! Each week will include a full body workout and may include the use of resistance bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, Olympic lifting, and much more.
Goal: To help women build both strength and confidence to safely and effectively execute resistance training routines whether you’re at home or at the gym!
Who: Any JMU affiliated woman or Harrisonburg community member of any fitness level.
When: Thursdays from 5:30 – 6:30pm, starting the second week of each semester.
Where: Godwin Hall room 116A, unless stated otherwise on the registration email.
Cost: Free!
