Training and Development Staff

Jennifer Testa Director of Training testajc@jmu.edu 540-568-3845
As Director of the Training and Development department, Jennifer provides leadership and vision to the team. She has served as Director since March of 2008,
and was Training and Development Trainer for 2 ½ years prior. Jennifer joined JMU in December 2000 as Recruitment Team Leader in Human Resources.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Human Resources Management) from Auburn University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from
Auburn and a Master of Science in Education (Adult Human Resource Development) from JMU. Away from the office, Jennifer enjoys devouring books and fishing
when not playing board games or taking trips with her husband and three elementary aged children.

Judy Rannow Professional Development Specialist rannowja@jmu.edu 540-568-5366
Judy Rannow joined the JMU Training & Development department in March 2008 and serves as the Professional Development Specialist. She is responsible for developing
and conducting training and professional development workshops. Judy also manages the training calendar and oversees the use of technology. While her formal
education is in biology, she has over seventeen years of training experience. As the former Director of Workforce Development for the Portage County Business
Council Foundation, Judy presented at events such as the Wisconsin Leadership Coordinator’s Conference and the Wisconsin Public Service Partnership as well as
served on the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Youth Council and MSTC Tech-Prep/School-to-Work Consortium. Since moving to Virginia, she has taught
professional development courses for Blue Ridge Community College and the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce. Judy is an avid reader and crafter when
not exploring the area with her husband and two sons.

Suzanne Vance Training Coordinator vancesn@jmu.edu 540-568-4101
Suzanne is Training Coordinator for the JMU Training and Development Department. After a short-term assignment in the Office of the President in fall of 1995,
she worked in various capacities in the College of Business, including the Center for Entrepreneurship and the National Center for Professional Development. She came
onboard with the JMU T&D in 2004. Her responsibilities include connecting workshops with content experts, and managing The Administrative Assistant Certificate
Program and The JMU Success Series. She is also a Covey-certified trainer. A passionate fundraiser, Suzanne is a Rockingham Memorial Hospital Foundation Board
member and also volunteers for WVPT Public Television and the Kiwanis Club. She lives in Harrisonburg with her husband, Bill and their son, Parker.

Renee Reed Budget Coordinator reedra@jmu.edu 540-568-7398
Renee serves as the Budget Coordinator for Training and Development. She joined JMU in November 2009 and is responsible for working with JMU staff to
process requests for training funds and tuition reimbursements. She and her husband relocated to Harrisonburg from northern Virginia in 2006 and are
the parents of a middle schooler and high schooler. Renee is active in the PTA in her local schools and enjoys sewing, reading and traveling with her
family to visit family and friends.

Aaron Clark Graduate Assistant clark2aj@jmu.edu 540-568-5760
As a Graduate Assistant, Aaron provides Training and Development with support of media projects and maintenance of training resource materials. Aaron graduated from
JMU in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts and Design, and he is currently enrolled in the Adult Human Resource Development program at Madison.
Aaron is still involved with his JMU Chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity as the Recruitment Advisor on the Alumni Board of Trustees, and when he has time, Aaron
enjoys watching all genres of film.

Ryan Cury Student Assistant curyrw@jmu.edu
Ryan Cury acts as the Student Assistant. He became part of the JMU student body as a freshman in August, 2006 and has been part of Training and Development
since January, 2009. He takes care of preparing and cleaning the training room, entering data for training sessions, meet and greets on campus, and is designing
the quarterly newsletter for all training departments across campus. He is now a senior Health Sciences major at JMU with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy.
He actively participates as a brother of Phi Epsilon Kappa, is a member of JMU Club Cross Country, and continually helps with JMU First-Year Orientation.

Megan Lukschander Student Assistant lukschmk@jmu.edu
Megan works as a Student Assistant. She became a Duke in August 2007 as a freshman, and recently began working with the Training and Development department in
September 2009. As a pre-medicine Health Sciences major she has challenged herself with difficult classes and heavy workloads. She is also a member of the
Pre-Medical Association. This past summer, Megan interned for Kalman & co., working with the Family of Field Medical Equipment for the USMC. In her free time,
Megan enjoys running through the Edith J. Carrier arboretum, and spending time with her roommates.
