Target Audience: Individuals that are interested in learning about and practicing public speaking skills.

Workshop Description: Do you have to speak in public for personal or professional reasons? Do you want to become more comfortable with public speaking? If so, join us for this two part workshop. Session one will cover speech planning and public speaking techniques. Session two will cover speech evaluation techniques then participants will deliver a five minute speech which will be evaluated by the other participants.

In this workshop participants will:

  • Get to know each other.
  • Learn ways to approach public speaking.
  • Learn public speaking basics.
  • Discuss public speaking do's and don'ts.
  • Learn how to plan and prepare for public speaking.
  • Discover tools for stocking their ‘public speaking toolbox’.
  • Prepare a five-minute speech.
  • Practice public speaking.
  • Learn how to evaluate speeches.
  • Practice evaluating speeches.

Participants are encouraged to take TD:1468: Powerful Presentations in conjunction with this workshop.
