Target Audience: Individuals in the AACP certificate series and others wanting to learn a planning process for reaching effectively written goals.

Course Description: A professional development plan built with a purpose in mind can prove to be a valuable resource for all employees. In order to help an employee grow, the plan must be relevant to the individual’s job and also take into consideration the current levels of knowledge, skills and abilities. Without assistance, developing these plans can prove to be quite a challenge.

In this session, we will delve into the nuts and bolts of creating professional development plans in an effort to help you chart your future growth with a purpose in mind!

In this workshop participants will:
  • identify and recognize the importance of goal setting.
  • identify and recognize threats to reaching goals.
  • practice writing effective goals.
  • learn about the strategic planning process.
  • write a personal strategic plan.
