Brain 101

Course# TD1469

Note: This workshop is capped at 18 participants.

Categories: Facilitation and Work/Life Wellness

Level: Fundamental

Pre-requisites: None

Target Audience: Individuals interested in learning how the brain learns.

Workshop Description: I have a brain that contains 50 – 100 billion neurons, each registering and transmitting 250 – 2,500 impulses a second. Research shows I am at least 1,000 times smarter than a mouse and 500,000 times smarter than a fruit fly. I contain within me this amazing organ that can process sights, sounds and smells all at once. How is it, then, that I can sit through a 4-hour class and not remember one single thing?

Recent research has given us exciting insight into how the brain learns. What we find is that many environments fail to take into consideration what happens naturally within us – learning. Truth is, we are always learning. Unfortunately, there are times when we just aren’t learning what was intended.

Join us as we explore ways to incorporate brain-based learning into our workplace.

In this workshop participants will:

  • gain a basic understanding of how the brains works.
  • discuss “distractions” that can effect learning.
  • strategize ways to enhance learning.
