Developing Positive Assertiveness
Course# TD1291

Do you know the difference between assertive, passive, and aggressive behavior? In this session participants will assess their current behavior then learn how to use positive assertiveness skills to improve communication with others.

Participants will:

  • Understand the difference between passive, assertive, and aggressive behavior.
  • Explore verbal and non-verbal communication behaviors which exhibit assertiveness.
  • Identify the barriers that inhibit assertive behavior.
  • Recognize the benefits of assertive behavior in the workplace and at home.
  • Create a personal "Developing Assertiveness" action plan.
