Student Organizations

Marketing students are encouraged to use many resources to enhance their marketing education. Student involvement with marketing organizations enriches course learning and provides experiential learning opportunities. There are several organizations available to students with an interest in marketing:

Madison Marketing Association (MMA)  
This student club is affiliated with the American Marketing Association, a national market association for marketing professionals, faculty, and students. MMA is open to all JMU students; however, 90 percent of members are marketing majors or minors. MMA is comprehensive with its marketing programming and offers students information and activities in direct marketing, retailing, and marketing management.

 

Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE)
PSE is the only national professional fraternity, which focuses on programming and extra-curricular experiences in marketing, personal selling, and sales management. Benefits of membership in PSE include:

Mu Kappa Tau (MKT)
Mu Kappa Tau is the premier organization for recognizing Collegiate Marketing honor students.  Mu Kappa Tau is the only Marketing Honor Society recognized by the Association of Collegiate Honor Societies (ACHS).  This accreditation assures that MKT adheres to the highest academic standards.  Admission is by invitation only.  If you are a Junior with a marketing major and an overall cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, and in the top 10% of your class, or a senior or graduate student, majoring in marketing and ranking in the top 20% of your class, this means that you can be recognized for your academic achievement through membership in MKT.  As a member of MKT, you may apply for one of Mu Kappa Tau's many scholarships, post your resume on Pi Sigma Epsilon's (PSE) Job Board, and review postings of the many national corporations that post their job openings on their Job Boards.  You will also have a standing invitation to attend the Mu Kappa Tau Annual Business Meeting which is held in conjunction with the PSE National Convention.  You will receive a personalized MKT Membership Certificate and Gold Key Membership Pin.
