Marketing Majors Night:
"The Major You've Been Looking For"

The Department of Marketing is sponsoring Marketing Majors Night on Tuesday, September 9 from 6:30 - 8:00 in Showker 204. The purpose of this event is to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about the marketing major. Information will be provided about marketing concentrations, marketing classes, student organizations, resumes, internships, job opportunities, and more. The Marketing Department at JMU
The mission of the Marketing Department is to prepare students for entry-level career positions by developing specialized skills in the management of customer relationships through the creation, communication, and delivery of value to customers. Marketing students
- develop in-depth knowledge on identifying, attracting, and evaluating customers
- evaluate marketing alternatives and commit to a course of action, using financial, organizational, environmental and ethical criteria to guide decision-making
- learn and use information technology tools for customer research and strategic performance
- apply marketing skills, doing client-based projects, company internships, community service, and managing student organizations.
New Course Numbers
- MKTG 382 is now MKTG 482 (Database Marketing). If your academic plan required MKTG 382, register for MKTG 482 instead.
- MKTG 484 is now MKTG 384 (Integrated Marketing Communications). If your academic plan required MKTG 484, register for MKTG 384 instead.
- MKTG 391 and 394 have been combined into a new course and is now MKTG 440 (Retail Strategy and Buying).
