Membership

Members or allies of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ) community are welcome to join the LGBTQ Faculty and Staff group at JMU. The group is open to faculty, A/P faculty, staff, full-time, part-time, wage, affiliates and students. Partners or family members of JMU employees are also welcome to join and are invited to attend gatherings and social events organized by the group.

Gatherings

The LGBTQ Faculty & Staff Group gathers in person on a monthly basis to share updates and discuss actions or events that have taken place in sub-groups.  Watch the listserv for details and announcements about upcoming gatherings.

Group members self-select and self-organize into sub-groups based on areas of interest.  Current sub-groups include data collection, benefits advocacy and social events.  More ideas and energy are welcome!

Listserv

The JMU_LGBTQ_FACULTY_STAFF listserv is the primary method of communication with the group.  The listserv is a lightly used, moderated list for social and informational announcements of interest to members.  Use this as a tool to keep up to date on actions and opportunities around campus.

To join the listserv, send an email to LISTSERV@it-listserv1.jmu.edu with the message SUBSCRIBE JMU-LGBTQ-FACULTY-STAFF-L in the body of the email.  Your email address and subscription to the listserv is visible only to the moderator and will be kept in confidence.

Spread the Word

Do you know someone who would be interested in joining the LGBTQ Faculty & Staff group?  If so, help us spread the word!  Download our flyer and share!
