A ribbon cutting ceremony marking the official opening of the Small Wind Training and Testing Facility at JMU will be among the highlights of the 2012 Statewide Wind Energy Symposium this week.
The ribbon cutting for the facility, which received $800,000 from the state of Virginia, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June. 21. The facility is located in the C-10 Parking lot across from The Rose Library (formerly East Campus Library).
The symposium begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 20 with concurrent workshops and runs through Friday, June 22. The symposium will feature keynote addresses from wind industry experts, workshops, panel discussions, exhibitors from around the Mid-Atlantic region and elsewhere and a tour of the Mount Storm wind farm in Grant County, W.Va.
