COVID-19 Information
Antibiotic Stewardship

According to the World Health Organization, antibiotic resistant bacteria is one of the greatest public health threats today.  A major contributor to this problem is inappropriate prescribing of antibiotics. With a goal to practice safe, evidence-based medicine, we are focusing on Antibiotic Stewardship which is choosing the right antibiotic at the right time at the right dose for the right duration.  Learn more from our Antibiotic Stewardship Guide.

Medical Chaperone

The University Health Center is committed to providing a safe, comfortable environment where patients and staff can be confident that best practices are always being followed.

During your visit our health care professional will typically request a private conversation regarding your medical concerns. This consultation will be conducted without a third party present in order to provide you a highly confidential environment for sharing your health concerns. If desired, any patient may have an authorized member of the health care team (chaperone) present during any physical examination or procedure. Trained medical chaperones are available upon patient request. In some situations the University Health Center requires that a medical chaperone be present per the UHC chaperone policy.

If you would like to see a copy of our chaperone policy or have any questions or comments regarding this please contact the Patient Advocate at 540-568-6178.
