Medical Care

General Medicine - Appointments can be made to see a medical provider for routine and preventative care.

Urgent Care - Urgent care is available for minor injuries such as sprains, minor fractures, allergic reactions and more.

Allergy Clinic - JMU students who have started an allergy desensitization program (allergy shots) with an allergist can get their shots at the UHC during the regular school year.

Dermatology - The University Health Center has a dermatology physician assistant on staff part-time to focus on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related skin, hair and nails.

International Travel Clinic - International Travel Clinic for students planning to travel abroad.

Lab Services - Labs may be ordered by on-campus medical providers or medical providers not affiliated with JMU.

Notice of Privacy Practices - Labs may be ordered by on-campus medical providers or medical providers not affiliated with JMU.

Nutrition Services - A registered dietitian is available to meet with students.

Patient Advocate - The Patient Advocate is available to discuss any issues or concerns related to service and care.

Pharmacy - The UHC pharmacy offers prescription medications for students written by a licensed on-campus medical provider.

Sentara RMH Orthopedics and Sports Medicine - Sentara RMH Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is available to provide specialty care for a variety of conditions and injuries.

Sentara RMH X-Ray Services - Sentara RMH X-Ray Services provides care to JMU students to assist in the diagnosis of injury/illness.

Service List and Fees - Prices are subject to change. This is not a complete list of all possible fees. The UHC does not accept insurance as a form of payment. If there is a charge for any service rendered, the student is responsible for payment at the time of service. We accept cash, check (made payable to JMU), declining balance on JACard (usually referred to as FLEX), Discover, MasterCard or Visa (credit card in student's name), Flexible Spending Account Cards (health flex benefits cards), Android Pay and Apple Pay.

STD/STI Testing - Sexually Transmitted Disease/Infection testing.

Telephone Nurse Triage - Call to speak with a Registered Nurse to determine the best course of care for a medical problem. Quick and accessible.

Women's Health Clinic - The Women's Health Clinic offers a wide range of services.
