Nina general medicine

The General Medicine Clinic, which is staffed by experienced Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants, provides evaluation and treatment for a wide variety of medical concerns. Examples of medical conditions frequently evaluated in this clinic include:

  • fever
  • sore throat
  • upper respiratory illness
  • eye and ear problems
  • abdominal pain
  • chest pain
  • skin conditions

Some appointments such as physical exams or general evaluations for anxiety, depression, and eating disorders can only be scheduled by calling the UHC. Appointments are 20 minutes long which provide ample time for your evaluation and to have all of your questions answered. Appointments can be made by calling (540) 568-6178. Appointments are typically available within 24-48 hours (Monday-Friday). We also have self-care guides which are helpful for students with common illnesses.

We accept cash, check (made payable to JMU), FLEX, Discover, MasterCard or Visa (if the credit card is in the student's name), Flexible Spending Account Cards (health flex benefits cards), Android Pay and Apple Pay.

Thursday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
