Vickie received her bachelor of science in nursing from James Madison University in 1997, then received her master of science in nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program from the University of Virginia in 2005.

Certifications:

Certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since 2005

Licensed Registered Nurse through the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2005

Professional Experience:

Vickie started her career working at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit as a registered nurse in 1997, before beginning work at the James Madison University Health Center from 1997-2004. From 2002-2006 she worked as a sexual assault nurse examiner and registered nurse at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Vickie has been on staff as a nurse practitioner at the James Madison University Health Center again since 2005.

What she enjoys most about working in college health:

“I enjoy having the opportunity to promote wellness and teach college students how to care for themselves during this transition period in their lives. I appreciate being able to diagnose and treat a variety of health concerns as well.”
