It is never too early to plan for your future, especially when your immigration status will entail that you plan in advance and accordingly.

Overview

On JMU’s campus Friday, Sept 15 special guests: immigration lawyers, international alumni, and career advisors will be offering different sessions designed to address the specific immigration and cultural differences that students face when searching, applying, interviewing for jobs/internships. The program can start as early as 2:15pm and end as late as 8:30pm

2:15pm - Welcome & Registration

2:30pm - Prep for Career Fair- Whether you already have a resume, you wish to apply for a summer internship or a job after you graduate or not this session will go over the tool, assistance and advice to be even more competitive and standout.

3:30pm - OPT Session- If you do wish to apply for a summer internship or a job after you graduate, there are immigrations option and paperwork that you will need to take care to ensure that you can do so.

4pm - The work visa- Obtaining one is not an easy task. Planning and information is needed. Our 2 special guests, Immigration lawyers/experts who work with international students from all of the world regarding that specific issue will give you all of the information that you will ever need.

5:15pm - International Alumni Panel- They have gone through the search and are looking forward to helping you, sharing tips, advice from their own experiences.

6:30pm - Family-style dinner with successful members of the community.
