International Week (I-Week)

I-Week, held the last full week in September, commemorates the cultural diversity at JMU. We invite the local community of Harrisonburg, also rich in many languages and cultures, and the JMU community to participate in programs and events to celebrate our rich cultural identities. JMU faculty, staff and students are invited to submit event proposals, and are encouraged to participate in the many activities.

International Student Leadership Conference

The International Student Leadership Conference is hosted by James Madison University and Eastern Mennonite University.  This weekend long conference focuses on leadership development of international and global minded student.  The conference hosts over 250 participants from 65 countries and 23 institutions.  JMU students are invited to attend this exciting conference.

Conversation Partner Program

The Conversation Partner program is an exciting opportunity for mutual cultural exchange while practicing conversation skills in English and other languages (foreign language is not a requirement) between the international student and domestic student.  JMU faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in this semester long program.

LIFE program
Leaders in International Friendship Exchange (LIFE)

Leaders in International Friendship Exchange (LIFE) program matches JMU international students with local friendship families who are interested in connecting with international students. The purpose of the LIFE program is to facilitate friendship and cultural exchange.  We hope you will consider being part of this growing program.
