JMU Faculty and Staff have various courses and options to learn more about computing, technology, instructional technology and specific software.


Technology Training


  • View course listings

    Browse the listing of courses on topics including Microsoft Excel, Access and Word, Computing at JMU, as well as information systems applications such as Student Administration.

  • Register using MyMadison

    Register for a course online through MyMadison and receive an email that confirms your registration.

  • Determine your Microsoft Office skill level

    Gauge whether you should register for a beginner, intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office class based on the results of skills inventories or successfully complete an assessment and you will not need to take the corresponding training course.

  • Use online tutorials to learn

    Supplement your knowledge with tutorials on a broad range of subject areas. Learn about Excel 2008, Dreamweaver and many other topics right from your desktop.

  • Find the Information Technology Training Center

    Located behind Massanutten Hall in JMAC-4, the Information Technology Training Center hosts technology courses.
