How to uninstall and reinstall TCP/IP
Windows 2000
- Right click on network neighborhood
- Go to Properties
- Select TCP/IP
- Click Uninstall
- Click OK
- You will be prompted to Restart computer
- Right click on network neighborhood
- Go to Properties
- Click Install
- Choose Protocol
- Choose Add
- Select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)
- Selct OK
- Close window
Windows XP
- Click Start, Run and type ncpa.cpl. Press Enter
- In the Network Connections window that appears, right-click on the connection type that is being used and select Properties
- In the Connection Properties window, click Install, then select Protocol and click Add
- Click on Have Disk, browse to or type C:\windows\inf into the Copy manufacturer's files from: field and then click OK
- Select Microsoft under Manufacturers and click on Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) under Protocols
- Click on OK. When the installation is complete you are taken back to the Connection Properties window. Close that window and restart the computer
