CTA REGISTRATION PROCESS: FAQ

Administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals employed in a public school in Virginia are eligible to attend the CTA. You will be requested to provide a valid school email address on the registration form.

To cancel your CTA registration and avoid a cancellation fee, you must email CTA@jmu.edu two weeks prior to the event. Cancellations received after 4:00 p.m. on June 14, 2024, will incur a $25.00 cancellation fee. A no-call or no-show will also result in a $25 cancellation fee.

The following hotels are offering special CTA rates from Sunday, June 23 to Thursday, June 27, 2024. There are a limited number of rooms blocked for this event. Once filled, rooms will be offered at current rates. Participants are responsible for hotel accommodation and costs.

Yes, you can register for an additional academy ONLY if the academies do not overlap on any of the days they are held.

No. Registrations must be completed during the live registration period. We are not able to accommodate walk-ins or late registrations due to required conference deadlines and planning.

Registration for the 2024 CTA will end May 19, 2024.

Participants who are successfully registered and eligible for a stipend must attend both morning and afternoon sessions throughout the duration of the academy(s). Attendance is actively monitored. Eligible participants will receive an email before the CTA to complete required paperwork including the COVA W-9 form, and optional Zelle Deposit form. Participant stipend should be received by the end of October 2024.

There is no cost to register and attend the CTA.

Yes, dorm room lodging is available on JMU’s campus. If you elect to stay on campus, you will be assigned a dorm room during the time you are a participant at the CTA. You are not permitted to stay in a dorm for the week of CTA if you are only attending one two-day academy. No changes will be made to dorm room reservations after May 20, 2024.

Below are options you can consider:

  • You can choose someone to room with in a double occupancy dorm room. The other participant must be registered for the CTA event and in agreement in rooming with you.
  • You can let CTA choose someone for you to room with in a dorm room.
  • You can upgrade to a single room occupancy for a $13.00 fee. You will choose this option during registration. If single rooms are available and are selected, a credit card payment will be collected at the time of registration.

Yes. One person from your division or school building may register multiple people. The person who registers the participants will be the one receiving all communication from CTA. The contact person will need to forward each individual(s) their CTA event information. To make registration easier, the person creating the registration(s) should have all necessary information for all parties on hand. For example, your name, contact information and will overnight, double room occupancy in a JMU dorm room be selected? To add additional participant registrations, select "add a new registrant" and complete the new registration information. It is important for the person who created the registration(s) to forward confirmation email(s) to the individual registered participant(s).
