Donated by Bruce and Lois ('64) Forbes on March 14, 2008 to celebrate JMU's Centennial, this bronze statue of James Madison looks across campus from just outside King Hall.

Bruce and Lois ('64) Forbes with artist Lee Leuning (at right) at the dedication of the statue.

Lee Leuning, born in Minnesota, worked as a wildlife officer for almost thirty years in Tennessee and South Dakota. Working in both watercolor and bronze sculpture, Lee creates works that appeal to a broad public.
