Guaranteed Admissions Agreements

JMU has guaranteed admission agreements with several community colleges and one junior college in Virginia. The purpose of these agreements is to ease the transfer process and to promote the close coordination of academic courses, programs and degrees offered. Guaranteed admission to JMU does not guarantee admission to a specific major. Many majors have additional admission requirements and/or application processes. JMU does not accept Associate in Applied Sciences degrees toward the fulfillment of General Education requirements.

Students participating in a Guaranteed Admission Agreement (GAA) program are required to submit an application for admission as well as a completed Letter of Intent by the application deadline.

We currently have GAAs with the following colleges in Virginia. Please review the outlined agreement and complete the Letter of Intent form with your counselor at your current community college. Letters of Intent can be submitted at any point while you are a student at your community college, but must be sent to JMU before the application deadline.
