8/17/21 Move-in Information

Links that are no longer active have been removed.

It’s almost time! We are ready to welcome you to campus and have some great things planned for the school year.

To ensure a smooth move-in process, we’d like to remind you to visit our  Move in 2021 page for driving directions and other information you may need for move in. And just a reminder, everyone is required to wear a mask while indoors in public spaces or in close proximity to others.

A new step this year involves documentation for the COVID-19 vaccine or Student Assumption of Risk Waiver and Entry Testing, so here is how that process will work. When you arrive at check-in:

  • If you have received confirmation that your documentation for the COVID-19 vaccine was verified, you will continue the move-in process.

  • If you submitted a Student Assumption of Risk Waiver, you will be asked at that time to electronically upload verification of a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test performed within 24 hours of arrival on campus, or a negative PCR test obtained within 48 hours of arriving on campus. Once you have done that, you will continue the move-in process.

  • If you did not provide either  documentation for the COVID-19 vaccine or a  Student Assumption of Risk Waiver, you must do so before you can move into your residence hall.  If you submitted either of these after Aug. 9, please also bring a copy with you in case they have not been processed by the time you move in.

    • If you have completed the vaccination and have not uploaded it, you will have the opportunity to electronically submit your vaccination card prior to move in. You must be two weeks past the time of your second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or your single dose if you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. If it has been less than two weeks, you must complete the  Student Assumption of Risk Waiver and  entry testing.

    • If you do not provide documentation of having completed the vaccine, you will need to complete the  Student Assumption of Risk Waiver (paper copies will be at the check in table for you to fill out) and you will be directed to a site for rapid testing.

    • This will delay your move-in so you are strongly advised to have this information with you when you arrive.

If you test positive for COVID-19 or are exhibiting symptoms, you should not come to move-in at this time. Please contact Residence Life at and we will help you schedule a different move-in day and time.

These measures are important to help us get the semester started safely and we are optimistic that they will help contain the spread of COVID-19. Students living off campus are also required to provide their vaccination record or Student Assumption of Risk and a negative COVID-19 test prior to returning to campus.  Any student who does not do so will have their JACard access deactivated on Aug. 24 at 3 p.m.
