News
The STEM Nexus Career Series is this year’s Program of the Year award winner, recognized for their outstanding efforts in creating an innovative and impactful experience for the College of Science and Mathematics student community. Through thoughtful planning and execution, this program engaged students in new and meaningful ways that supported and empowered them throughout their career development journey.
Across five events held throughout the academic year, the STEM Nexus Career Series connected students with industry professionals and recruiters who provided valuable insight into their career paths, experiences and advice for success. These events encouraged science and mathematics students to explore opportunities beyond traditional pathways, fostering curiosity, exploration and confidence in their futures.
In addition to increasing student engagement, this series highlighted the importance of networking, improved accessibility for both students and employers, and strengthened collaboration between the University Career Center, faculty, staff and employers across campus. By breaking down silos and creating accessible opportunities for organizations to connect with students, this series helped build lasting relationships that will continue to benefit JMU students in the years ahead.
