Honors Societies Hold Annual Banquet

On Thursday April 9th, philosophy and religion honor societies Phi Sigma Tau and Theta Alpha Kappa held their annual banquet at which they welcomed new members and celebrated departing seniors. Among those joining Phi Sigma Tau were Jacob Krutis, Kevin Baskaran, Melanie Cohen, Olivia Maier, Henry Matter, Tea Rahman, Will Tedesco, Patrick Ward, Rachel Wilson, Maggie Watson, and Will Sanfilippo. These students were chosen for their excellence in philosophy courses. Those joining Theta Alpha Kappa included Julia Pagnozzi and Lucy Sampson, who were chosen for their outstanding work in religion courses.
Phi Sigma Tau celebrated departing seniors Ella Jorgensen, Hannah Ko, Laila Masumi, Ben Lonley, Aidan Van Slyke, and Ben Katz. These seven students have been outstanding members of the philosophy community and will be missed in the department. Theta Alpha Kappa also celebrated their departing seniors Olivia Brightwell and Evan Fisher. These two have been valued members of the religion program who will surely give Theta Alpha Kappa a good reputation wherever they go. Congratulations to all the new and departing members!
The honors banquest included a special congratulations to Ben Katz and Evan Fisher for earning the accolades of Outstanding Senior in Philosophy and Outstanding Senior in Religion, respectively. Last but not least, Rachel Wilson was recognized for her victory in the annual philosophy essay contest. Congratualations all around!
