CONVOCATION CENTER LOTS PARTIALLY CLOSED FOR CONSTRUCTION

Approximately 220 spaces in Convo lots A and B have been temporarily closed for the Spring 2026 semester as part of the University Boulevard Realignment construction project. Approximately 560 spaces remain available for student use during the project. Students who park at the Convocation Center are encouraged to consider alternative transportation methods to campus, such as free HDPT bus service, or to park in alternate locations such as the Ballard Parking Deck on east campus. Inner Campus Shuttle service is available from the Ballard Parking Deck to various campus destinations. Refer to the HDPT bus schedule for details.

F LOT REALLOCATED FOR COMMUTER PARKING

Beginning January 20, parking lot F, located between Godwin and Showker Halls, will be renamed C5 Lot and reallocated for commuter student use. At the same time, the former C5 Lot, located adjacent to P Lot across from Showker and Hartman Halls on Bluestone Drive, will be reallocated as part of P Lot and be reserved for faculty/staff use from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday. This change will partially compensate for the loss of commuter parking space at the Convocation Center. Signage in these lots will be updated to reflect the reallocations by January 20.

NEW ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS AVAILABLE

Six new electric vehicle charging stations have been added behind Burruss Hall, accessible from Grace Street. EV charging stations are available to JMU students with a current JMU parking permit at a fee of $1.00 per hour for a maximum of four hours per charging session. Payment may be made via the ParkMobile phone app, available for iPhone and Android. Refer to posted signs at charging stations for instructions and additional details.
