Notice about Disruptions in P Lot

News

Beginning Monday, October 20, approximately 75 parking spaces in P Lot, the faculty/staff lot across from Hartman Hall, will be closed to facilitate a campus-wide gas line infrastructure project.

To compensate for the loss of faculty/staff parking in P Lot, a new parking location will be opened in the Godwin Transit Center (GTC), adjacent to Godwin Hall and the JMU Bookstore. The new parking area will be accessible through G Lot, and will offer 73 parking spaces for faculty/staff use only from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Faculty and staff may also overflow into existing lots F and G if space in P Lot is unavailable. Signage will be posted in P and G Lots directing traffic to the new parking location. A campus parking map is available for your reference on the Parking and Transit Services website.

During setup for the project on Sunday, October 19, the entirety of P Lot will be unavailable. Spaces not impacted by the project will reopen on Monday morning, October 20. This phase of the project is expected to last approximately two weeks. When the next phase begins, the affected area of P Lot will shift north as the project moves through the lot. The GTC parking area will remain open to faculty/staff during this phase as well.

Please contact us at 540-568-3300 or parkingservices@jmu.edu if you have any questions. Thank you for your patience during this critical infrastructure project.
