Volunteer for a Vision Team
NoticesWe are pleased to share with you the newly drafted strategic pillars that will guide James Madison University into the next phase of the strategic planning process. Over the past few months, the president has engaged with more than 1,500 faculty, staff, students, alumni, community members and legislators to gather ideas and learn about what makes JMU distinctive. In concert with the JMU Board of Visitors, these pillars reflect shared ideas, hopes and inspiring visions from our collective conversations and position JMU to lead boldly into the future.
Today, we invite you to be part of these bold aspirations by serving on a Vision Team. Vision Teams are charged with addressing a specific set of questions centered around elements of a pillar and will be led by co-chairs. We are asking about 75 faculty, staff and students to spend intense time over the next three months to define in very real terms what our university priorities will be in the next five to 10 years.
Each team will prepare strategic recommendations, a feasibility analysis, additional ideas, a summary of their work and recommendations on how to measure success for each strategy.
We hope you’ll consider nominating yourself to serve on one of our Vision Teams. Please review the role expectations carefully before completing the application. You will be asked to identify a Vision Team you wish to serve on and provide a brief description of the strengths you will bring to the team. Not everyone who submits their name will be guaranteed a role on the Vision Teams. After review of all nominations, invitations to serve will be extended by Friday, Dec. 5.
