Attend October's Furious Flower First Friday exhibit

Notices

Did you miss September’s First Friday exhibit opening at Furious Flower Poetry Center? Don’t worry - there is still time to see Language, Lessons, and Lineage at our Broadside Gallery! Join us for the final month of this curated installation of poetry and art on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 5 PM-7 PM at Cardinal House!

Curated by JMU chauffeur and retired educator Richard Morrell, the exhibit invites readers to peruse this collection and consider words that are new to you, or that sound interesting, musical, or cause you to question their meaning. Do your ears hear the voice? Do your eyes visualize the scene? Consider how common events become something powerful, a revelational awakening.

Drop by the reception at Cardinal House (500 Cardinal Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22807) on Friday, October 3, 2025, anytime between 5 PM-7 PM for refreshments, fellowship, and, of course, poetry!

We 💜 (heart) Passport Students! This event counts as a passport event. Come enjoy an evening of poetry and get your course stamp! Wellness Dimensions: Intellectual, Emotional, Social/Cultural

This exhibit is hosted in partnership with the Arts Council of the Valley’s First Fridays Downtown Art Walk.

THE FURIOUS FLOWER BROADSIDE GALLERY IS ALSO OPEN TO THE PUBLIC MONDAY – FRIDAY, 11 AM–5 PM.
