The GCFE named an “Outstanding Emerging Center” finalist
Center for EntrepreneurshipSUMMARY: The GCFE makes its mark at the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers conference.
The JMU Center for Entrepreneurship was founded in July 1985, and in 2018 was officially named the Gilliam Center for Entrepreneurship. Since its inception, the center has grown into a collaborative network of faculty, alumni and students. On October 16, the GCFE was named a finalist for the “Outstanding Emerging Center” award at the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers conference in Baltimore.
The GCFE was one of five finalists in the category “school with greater than 5,000 students”. In total, over 300 other schools and universities attended the conference to represent their center, and more participated in the conference virtually.
The GCFE will continue to grow and support entrepreneurship on and off campus to empower individuals through active participation, marketing support, and academic and entrepreneurial networks. And, as a result, faculty, students and alumni will be enabled to continue being the change in the world of entrepreneurship.
