CFE Welcomes International Students to Summer Venture Creation Accelerator
Center for EntrepreneurshipThe Center for Entrepreneurship partnered with the Provosts office to welcome three international students to the Summer Venture Creation Accelerator. Joy Mweemba and Smart Lungu visit us from Zambia and are employees of the African Education Program. The AEP is a nonprofit organization that sponsors children who can not afford to pay school fees. The organization offers scholarships from high school to university. Apart from the scholarships, the organization also provides food to the children and has a Youth Centre in Kafue, Zambia where children can access different services such as a library, computers, counseling, and free tuition. Getoar visits us from Kosovo where he leads an incubation program titled VentureUP at the University of Prishtina. VentureUP aims to support student entrepreneurs by giving them the best tools to build new ventures. The students will observe each element of the Summer Accelerator, meet with various departments across campus, and work with both the Executive Director and Operations Assistant in order to bring the best practices from JMU entrepreneurship back to their home countries.
