Being the Change
An educator for more than 30 years, Donald Cooper understands the importance of preparing talented teachers to make an impact in schools. To celebrate his love for education, he created the Donald G. Cooper ('73, '74) Scholarship Endowment in Education as well as the Dr. Henry A. Myers Memorial Scholarship Endowment in Political Science to honor his former professor. During his teaching career, Donald taught economics, history, psychology and sociology courses. “I chose the teaching profession because I loved learning and wanted to impart this passion to students and show them that, through obtaining knowledge and utilizing it in their lives, they can transform society.” In his spare time, Donald does genealogy research of Shenandoah Valley families and historical homes.
