2018-19 BTC Calendar: Mark Warner
Being the ChangeMark Warner began his JMU journey in 1975 as a student — and never left. He went on to hold positions throughout the university, starting as area director of the Village and working his way to senior vice president for student affairs, the role he has filled for 20 years. From his office on the Quad, Mark has seen everything from proposals on the Kissing Rock, ESPN College GameDay setups and has called to students walking on campus just to say “hi.” He will retire from Student Affairs in May, but plans to continue teaching his leadership class, which he has taught for almost 30 years. “The thing that’s been so exciting is being able to wake up and think, ‘I get to go to Madison today to work and play.’ That interaction with students has always been special to me.”
