2017-18 BTC Calendar: Arthur and Shonda Moats

Whether it’s supporting families at a Ronald McDonald House, delivering meals to the less fortunate or endowing a JMU studio arts scholarship, Arthur Moats, his wife, Shonda, and their children believe that giving is a privilege and responsibility. Shonda and Arthur, a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers, donated $300,000 toward JMU’s new Convocation Center. Drafted by the Buffalo Bills following a stellar career on JMU’s gridiron, this College of Arts and Letters alumnus has built another sterling reputation off the field. He was chosen the Walter Payton Man of the Year by the Bills in 2013 and by the Steelers in 2016. He exemplifies JMU’s mission statement: educated citizens who live meaningful lives.
